Mappers and Andy forrest
No offence to anyone in the subaru mapping game but.....
Why when Andy Forrest has the fastest scooby in the country would you go anywhere else for a remap.
The reason i ask is i want to make my scooby to go as fast as possible. Andy F owns the fastest scooby so surely it makes sense to go to him.
Sugestions are welcome although results speak volume.

Maybe Andy F can squeeze a couple of extra horses out of your car, but at the end of the day if it's just for day to day/weekend drives does it really matter? unless your trying to shave .3 of a second on your daily run to work and back?

Doesnt it depend on supporting mods for speed?
I went to AndyF because he seems to be very much concerned about the safety of your engine.
He advised me to go for a bigger intercooler and an uprated fuel pressure regulator.
I'm not saying any other mapper out there isnt, but reputations do speak volumes and I've never heard a bad word about him.
............and if it takes an extra tank of SUL to get to him to do the job, I'd rather spend the £60 for that than £3000 for a bottom end and rebuild.

He maps Subaru's almost everyday of the week and has people flying him out to places like the Carribean to mpa their cars.
I am not saying other mappers aren't worthy, I just feel that Andy F is the most experienced and respected mapper in the UK IMHO.
The fact that his cars perform in the field simply reinforces his knowledge..

I've never mapped mine or been interested in it, but people tell me some mappers will look for power only and sod the life expecancy of the engine, and some look for power and look after the engine.

There are of course very good mappers here, as said, andy f, bob rawle, to name a few, i personally use steve simpson at TEG motorsport, he is closest to me, and is held also in high regard.

After thoroughly doing my research and talking to various individuals there seems to be a good handful of mappers out there for Scoobs that are top notch.

As has been said there are a lot of excellent Subaru mappers in the community. Andy F is one of them and because he does it day in day out has probably mapped more cars than any other but that doesnt mean that he is the only one that can do the job right nor the only one that considers engine safety.

Andy is indeed one of the finest mappers for Subaru in the UK, and is also a friendly and very helpful bloke. The following should not be taken to detract from his tremendous achievements on the Quarter Mile in any way.
BUT to question why anyone would go anywhere else just cause he has the fastest qrt mile scooby is rather short sighted. Maybe the other mappers are simply less interested in the Qrt mile? Maybe they have other elements of their CV that commend them equally?
Much as I respect and admire Andy's achievements on the Qrt mile, it's about the last reason I'd entrust my Scooby to him! I'd do that because of the reputation he has got for transforming the performance of more humble scoobies than his own drag car, which spend their time on the road, rather than the strip
I recall speaking to one a mate who worked for a local garage that offered engine mapping who basically called me a fibber when I told him what Bob Rawle had extracted from my humble classic UK Impreza, until I showed him the delta dash graph, he suddenly went a bit quiet, especially when I pointed out that to make that figure only 1.35bar boost was dialed in, when they'd said more than like 1.7 would be needed and that the car simply would not be reliable at 320bhp!
At the end of the day, everyone is going to sing the praises of their mapper! The reality is that there are numerous excellent choices for Subaru engine mapping. Andy is most definitely up there, as is Bob, as is Richard, as is Simon and so on
