Default Back in an Impreza

So, last night picked up a MY2001 Wrx Wagon. Dont know why I sold my last one (MY97 Turbo Wagon) but glad I'm back in one.
Drives really nice - just a couple of questions so far.
It must be one of the first New Age Bug Eyes and it has had the Morette Headlight conversion which looks good. Thing is, at the front side of the wing is a chevron shaped piece of amber plastic lens (which does not light up with indicators) and behind it just over the wing is the usual oval repeater which does light up with indicators. As the car is silver and the oval repeater is clear, this amber thing looks ridiculous. Was it ever wired and what's the deal? Do I just buy a clear cover and replace it?
Brakes - bloody hell forgot how bad they can be. All looks standard ( and old ) - calipers have Subaru logo on them. Planning to replace all disks and pads with a slight up-grade. Budget around £400 for parts - what suggestions? I will do search first. Would it have 2 pot or 4 pot calipers as standard?
Thanks

The amber piece of plastic never lit up on my 02STi. Never understood why it was there.

As above, never lit up. You could take it out and paint it, or they do carbon inserts.

Regards to the brakes. Have a look on ebay, you may be able to get a Brembo upgrade. Check that' they'll fit under you alloys though!!

Subaru impreza turbo Brembo brakes STI WRX on eBay, also, Subaru, Car Parts, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 12-Apr-08 22:18:16 BST)

or look on the for sale boards on here. HTH

Brembo's will be expensive, and wheels won't fit without (yuk !) spacers... or STI alloys, or nicer !
