Default Nomad Racing - Centre Gauge POD

I'd been looking around for a decently priced gauge and centre pod combo and finally took the plunge and ordered the Nomad Racing Centre POD and 3 Gauges from Xyberautos made by Dynamyx Racing....

Total price for both - £146.70 Delivered

This thread will follow the install.... (not me doing the installing .... Cheers matey)

Service I've had so far from Nomad has been superb, exactly what you need from a retailer, regular clear instructions, prompt communication and fast delivery ... so far so good !!!

Gauges are on order .. limited communication but then they are based in singapore so I guess it's to be expected. (Edit : have now had contact from supplier (seems computers were down) lets see how it goes from here)

DAY 1
Received pod in post. Looks almost custom made as it seems to be a fibreglass weave rather than plastic ... feels bloody heavy and well made.

and the back

The finish was actually quite good and looked stock but I really wanted something that matched the silver of the rest of the centre console. Off I went to halfords to get some paint.

Obviously no exact match but went for some White Primer and Peugeot Cossack Grey metallic which seemed a good match. After testing this on my Poppy Coral air freshner it was time to take the plunge

3 coats of primer later

sanded with 600 grit and given two more coats.

3 coats of Cossack Grey later sanded and painted with 2 more coats (It will be given another 3-4 coats just so it's nice an thick)

P R E T T Y

DAY 2 ....

WHERE ARE MY GAUGES !!! HURRY UP .... TBC

rest of day 2 ...

Test fitted in centre panel (ignore gap not there when secured down) not sure on my choice of silver may get a slightly darker shade butI'm happy I didn't keep it black !

Day ...3???

Gauges have finally arrived, not too bad considering how far they've come in good condition cant complain about anything. Instructions included and although in english might as well be in Japanese for all I know.

anyhoooo

This is them ...

....

found a minor (hopefully) problem, the oil gauges are quite deep so much so they actually wont sit flush in the pod housing ... hopefully some filing will sort this out...

52mm as it was easier .... LAZY **** ALERT

Having a look there's gotta be 4mm you could file off from each edge of course you'd have to paint it (or flock it ) so in theory you could get them to fit.
