Possibility of working for them in the future and was wanting to know a little more about there UK IT operations...Locations etc, especially in IT Security / Governance department(s)....

Not really, but I used to do a lot of work for Abbey National in Milton Keynes before and after they were taken over by Santander. The guys I keep in touch with there are extremely unhappy and just waiting to get paid off, that's the ones who still have jobs.

So I would have thought that Santander in this country means Abbey, and you would be in one of their locations, from memory this is mainly Milton Keynes, but also London, Bradford, Belfast and maybe Southampton. Generally not a great place to be, but if they pay you well...

 

We may be the next Abbey. So just sizing up the general feel of the place and culture.

Abbey's CIO just won an IT industry award for having a top drawer IT department so things can't be all that bad. I'd assume there's always going to be people cheesed off with the 'new broom'....

What are these guys unhappy about?
