MY08 STI accident.
Firstly, hope it was no one off here. Secondly, hope the occupants were ok. Thirdly, as most of us Impreza drivers know, you can't beat the laws of physics despite AWD.
I wonder if this is a result of the "new market" and the "new customers" not realising that when Imprezas bite, they bite hard.
Shame.
When the Subaglue runs out...

I disagree, unless there's another vehicle/person/animal etc involved, a crash like this is down to the driver not driving to suit the condtions, pure and simple.

Yes, of course, OMG it's inconceivable that a Subaru owner could possibly have made a driving error and crashed!

All the press cars were registered on 57 plates - there are plenty of them around. At the launch of them, there were about 15 57 plated cars - and I'm sure there were many others around, so it could have been a press car gone off, or indeed one that was sold into the dealer network.

Such a shame.
Looks like a UK car to me though (the dealer i went to see had their demo on 57 too):
UK Wheels
UK Foglight Triangle in rear cluster
Cant see that well, but also looks like it has the Type UK Logo that they have in the rear quarter window.
Either way, its a shame.. without knowing the situation, im hesitent to pass judgement personally.. i just hope everyone is ok.

the sooner you guys realise summer tyres are **** on snow the better! We get the same threads year in year out and still you argue the toss that you don't get bad enough weather to justify them!! Oh well they are your cars so why should I even be bothered? That guy from ESC would still have his car if he had the right tyres on it for the conditions.

Still, if people are willing to fork out 25K for a car but not £500 to look after it, that's their problem. Although in reality winter tyres don't cost any extra as you're not wearing out your summer tyres while driving on the winters!

I wouldn't dream of buying winter tyres and my Elise has some daft Yokohama summer tyres on them. At the time of writing, i've driven through, loads of standing water, ice, black ice and snow. Drive to the conditions and things "should" be fine. Why won't i fit winter tyres? - too lazy to swap them

As a representative of Subaru (UK) Ltd, I would like to assure you that the crash was not the result of poor performance on the part of the vehicle. The matter is being thoroughly investigated by our insurers, but suffice to say a young journalist was road-testing a press car rather late at night. Sadly our road-side assistance team weren't called until the following morning. I'm relieved to report that the driver was not hurt.

he just wants to get his post count up
2 posts in 14 minutes isn't going to make you a post ***** very quickly though
how long do you reckon it will take a moderator to come and infract him for having advertising as his login name???
I remember when Kirsty from SWRT did the same thing, her post was deleted in seconds.

Would like to read that journo's report! Wonder if he will be coming clean on his lack of driving skills or giving the car a bad review!

While you're here, do the bigwigs at Subaru actually take on board any of the comments made on Scoobynet? If they do - i 'm sure that sales of the new Impreza would greatly improve if they brought a Saloon version to the UK
