Angry Garage having a laugh surely ?

I was driving out in the sticks this morning when suddenly steam sarted p1ssing out from underneath the bonnet. Got out and had a looksie to find this pipe had split.

Not wanting to chance it I have taken it to a local redneck garage who have told me it is a specially part from subaru and want to charge £100 fitted

Please tell me these guys are having a girrafe any idea how much this part should cost?

Maybe it's £100 because it has got a 'Special Red Arrow' on it??

My brother had to pay £750 for a pipe on his DB7 - I think £100 is quite reasonable.

No idea how much that hose is from Subaru but £100 isn't a lot to supply and fit inc topping up and bleeding your system.
It's an easy diy job though.

Secondhand Pipe???

No, No, No .......

Temp. measure to get you home and costing £2 maybe ........ but not a long term fix - false economy that.

20 quid delivered apparently they are only £25 quid each from subaru, so that's £75 for 10 minutes work they wanted

Ok, I was wrong. Very sorry for posting, promise I won't do it again
Local dealer here is £80 per hour, factor in price of new hose from Subaru + coolant. Easy £100.

bloody hell, £100 for a top rad hose !

im lucky i suppose, my local scrappy always has legacy`s or sports in its scrap yard so i can get most stuff like that for £2 or so.

prob take 20 mins to fit and top up yourself.

Well if you are happy using a main dealer at those rates then you must have more money than sense mate

Mmm, can't remember anywhere stating i'd pay for it to be done at a main dealer. Seem to remember actually saying it was an easy diy job.
