hello there any opinions on this buy would be much helpful. Subaru : V3 Impreza Sti ***REDUCED***
the seller states the wheels on that are genuine sti ones??

the 3 things that are on mind is, 1 it has a boost controller on it, 2 the has had the car for 6months 3 its done 48k and the cambelt has not been changed....or is that just me being edgey?

im really interested but i need to ask my fellow members first.

"the car and has never been driven in excessive rain, due to water gets onto the engine bay and can damage the MAF."

It says a 22b bonnet scoop too. That's wrong. The 22b is like the original but bigger and 2 slats, not that scoopy lOOking thing.

Original wheels look like this (not as per one you're looking at):

http://images.trademe.co.nz/photoser...3/54093203.jpg

I'd be worried about the one in the add as he's got a decat exhaust, induction kit & boosted the boost (!) to gain more BHP yet it doesn't look like there's been any remap done. The early STi's either need octane booster or a remap for UK fuel. Without either they are prone to engine problems.

dont want to trash your prospective buy, but the problem as i discoverd to my cost with a v3 is the ecu is not mapable so its designed to run on high octain jap stuff which can mean the big ends let go now im not saying thats the case here but just make sure you take someone along that realy knows these cars even if you have to pay them! £100 or so now is much better than 3k later, and if you do buy the car first thing to do is get yourself an aftermarket ecu like a power fc and get it mapped buy a reputable mapper. personally id look for one that has had a rebuild and has lots of goodies on it as no mater what you say now you will mod it!! maybe save a bit more money and buy somthing in the 7k region that some poor bugger has spent 10k on extras and cant afford to keep it! sorry for the long post but as i said and im sure there are plenty that will agree when they go bang its not cheap.. happy hunting

100 Ron in Japan which you can't get here although T99 & V Power get close. You need octane booster or a remap.

"It has ALWAYS been run on shell v power without fail"

He has had it for 2,000miles!! So, the statement is untrue.

"I have not abused this car in the slightest"

Followed by, "This car is very very very fast and the acceleration is very hard"

And as for, "has never been driven in excessive rain, due to water gets onto the engine bay and can damage the MAF"

Rarely - even on SN - have I heard such utter tosh!

The guy is talking out of his rear end ..... I wouldn't touch it with a bargepole to be truthful ...
