Rally is based in Lloret De Mar
We booked our hotel on arrival but beware it's out of season and about half the hotels were shut !.
No Formula 1 Hotels but quite a few others around.
Day 1 and 3 are usually around the town of Vic
Day 2 is usually near Tarragona ( North of Barcelona )
No Gravel stages ( all tarmac )
Check out the official web site ( cannot remember URL - sorry )

Hi Richard and all other Cat Lovers
We are going but I need to check on how many Team Leaders we have.
Basically, each car much have two insured drivers and each car will be in a group of four, lead by a Team Leader that has done the event at least once before.
And boy do we know some top spots for viewing

Hi Cat Fans
I will be going again this year so count me in. This will be the 3rd year that I have been to "the best blast you can have on public roads"
I will not however be taking my car as it will be up for sale about then, but I have had offers of 2 rides so far.
I will happily be a team leader if required .
The total cost last year including
food , fuel, hotel, tolls, Chunnel crossing, and some booze was about £500.00 each based on 2 people sharing.
Total milage about 3000 miles in 7 days
Total sleep about 5 hrs per night
It is a must do trip for any Impreza junkie.
Best regards
Gaz

The Scoob at Listers was the Leader of the pack. Dunno who he was .
There was 13 Scoobs and one EVO VI in the group and we had a Bat Cave at the big Hotel overlooking Lloret.
Did you see two scoobs going for 'most people in a Scoob record' ( RB5 and White STi ) returning the drivers to their cars. 4 on back seat , Four in boot ( with Boot open ) and three in front seats.
The Garda did not seem to mind too much.
I believe another attempt was made at this with even more people in a black STi V.
Anybody who has not been, it is the BEST driving just don't look down !!.

Guys I'll put full details up on the SIDC site, just as soon as I know them.
The second driver is because we drive down in one hit, over night, and it takes approx 10 hours.
Two people have driven it on their own, but I won't allow anyone on their own again, as it is just too dangerous for that period of time.
Team Leaders will be people who have done the tour at least once before. They are familiar with the areas of the stages, parking arrangements and the best roads to use. We normally divide the groups up based on ability/car spec to ensure that a group is able to stay together.
We will have car to car VHF radios again, so each group can chat and so that team leaders can help with safe overtaking for the group.
This rally is heavily attended by Brits and probably has the best apres rally social scene. But if you've never been to a WRC tarmac event, you don't know what you are missing.

He was negotiating for a SWRT Shirt with one of the mechanics and was half way through stripping ready for the swap when negotiations broke down.
I have seen one photo so far - just can't remember who took it
Can only reiterate what Gazzer said.

Ah,
brings back pleasant memories
Would love to go again this year, but I'll need to check the diary and obtain the necessary visas
I probably won't take my own car, as it would be a 10 hour drive minimum to get the where everyone else starts from, so would be looking to co-drive with someone else, or possibly even fly there direct and meet up with the posse out there.
For those who haven't been, it really is the best event of the year, in terms of getting close to the action, the roads you drive to get to the viewing points, and not forgetting the main reason - the social events (ie lots and lots of drinking).
