Default CRANKSHAFT PULLY

guy's,ive noticed when the engine is ticking over,theres a slight wobble to the pully,higher revs it goes,or looks like it does?whats it all about,do i need a new one,if so,weres best,are lightweight ones better?

sorry for the constant questions,but iam having a go at diy,

hi, im not sure if thats normal but i would make sure the bolt is tight just in case as mine came undone and made a real mess of the crankshaft.

Mine came loose, I checked it with a rachet it seemed ok but with a decent torque wrench it wasnt mate.

As above - check the pulley retaining bolt is tight (127Nm).
The pulley damping mass(rubber) could be perished and making it wobble.
The front snout of the crank could be damaged from a previous front end impact/crash.

the rubber looks slightly perished,ill get one ordered,

mine has a slight wobble . my old one did and my mates is the same . caracteristic of the car maybe ???

We've seen this often, and it can be a disaster, resulting in a new crank.
The cause is not tightening up the pulley bolt properly when the cam belt is changed, resulting in the keyway being damaged. We have got away with it by fitting a lightweight pulley, Roger Clark supply them amongst others, and doing the bolt up good and tight.
