Default advice on what this impreza in worth please

hi all ive just finally sold my current car & hopefully soon ill be a proud owner of a subaru, i originally wanted a may v2 or v3 sti but due to my finances think im going to have to go for a wrx which i think ill still be just as happy with as my mate has a old k plate & this is what set me off wanting one, im planning on viewing one tommorow a m plate 74,000 couple of mods nothing daft & best of all its immaculate inside & out also with cat 1 & tracker which i cant get insured without, getting down to my question i just want to know how much you guys would pay? its up for £3500 thanks

providing it has a stack of service history, and is also HPI clear id say its about right. Always try and haggle on the price, if there is the slightest thing wrong with it use that as your haggling pitch. If you end up getting it for 3200 that'll be a bargin, providing everything with the car is ok, i.e engine, gearbox, tyres and drive.

the seller says he was the first owner from its import 2 years ago & hes serviced the car himself with reciepts & also cam belt which i presume he got done at a garage, ive hpi'd the car & there was something bit strange it was saying it was a impreza gl this was through rac hpi? everything else seems in order though thanks for your advice

My WRX is an import and is registered on the V5 as a Gl. I believe most imports aren't registered as WRX or STi, but as GL's beacause the DVLC have no codes for the imports.

i had a astra coupe turbo which was a faultless car just always fancied a subaru but can only now get reasonable insurance at 27

Fair enough. Running costs won't be a million miles away. This is probably one of those times when a full AA inspection of the car is well worth a hundred quid. It is also worth starting your bidding well below the asking price...say about £2750. There isn't much demand for these kind of cars and you might be surprised how quickly the owner bites. Good luck.
