sti owners....Would you have a WR1?
I have been looking at them as I used to love them.Obviously they are worth more than a normal sti, but being an owner of an immaculate 05 plate sti I dont think I could own a WR1 for one major reason. The interior is horrible in comparison! I dont think I could live with it! I would have to change it!

I thought about a WR1 as i only bought my spec c recently, same sort of money and year, milage and all that for the money, but the spec c's just got the little bit more, some may say a bit more hardcore, yeah i'd agree but i just blew away a 50K Jag XKR supercharged so it was well worth the money
not a chance now then i've got my spec c , i saw two together at the recent ace cafe meet, they do look nice and i do like the side skirts , if only u could get them in white

budgie well OK bar your nearly std UK STi LOL
I have diven a number of WR1's and wouldn't have sold my 02STi PPP & PHP for one, to me never quite did it as a "Package". seemed more like a car with some bolt on goodies IMHO
For the cost of it there were much better, very loosely, "Out the Box" Special Editions Scoobs around Like Type20, S203 & Type RA even the 05STiPPP, PHP & PF7's.
I test drove one of Prodrives development "RB320" at their Track Circuit January 07 IIRC and to be fair I was very impressed with the whole "Package", slightly underpowered but worthy of standing next to a P1 or RB5 WR.
Regards
Tony

i just wondered how you saw the rb320 to be much different to the wr1
other than the engine size
isn't power and handling pretty much the same

and dont say its the colour
i am hoping for a learned answer

So in a nutshell
1) You can buy an 06 sti (with mild upgrades past the WR1 level) for less
2) You have a choice of colours
3) You will still have some warranty left (depending on the upgrades).
4) If you want something more raw you can get a spec c or jdm sti (that is 05 and above for less)

Very simple go on to Pistonhead and you can see wr1's for £18000 (thats for an 04 car) for that you can get a UK sti thats 18mths - 2 years younger and still have change to upgrade it beyond the WR1 goodies (in fact you can get one thats already had some basic upgrades at that price).

Yes, but I wouldn't buy one.
If I had to make a choice based on handing over my wedge then I would go for the newer modded STI hawkeye. I am bias though as made this exact same choice last year.

The RB320 handling was better, although "Simularly" set up with, Bilstens, PPP & PD 18"'s it seemed to work better as the whole "Package".
The 2.5ltr Torque was good but had better Engine was typically UK short of Rev's which with a 6 speed box is OK good on the track but on the road perhapswould have been better a 5 speed Box. This would give a larger speed range in gears. IMHO
