right heres the thing, iv just had a bit of banter with my mate.
he has a golf r32, its a 2006 so the newer one. he drove it to the pub we were there for half hour then left.
when he got into his car he basically turned it on, put his seatbelt on and booted it up the road. i then texted him saying nice oil temp mate. he texted back saying 'an engine takes an hour to cool down id been in there for half an hour so it was ok'. i don't think this is right, if the engine has been off for half an hour it will need to be warmed up properly again until you should boot it as the oil temperature wont be right.
so who is right, me who is saying that if the vehicle has been off for half an hour it would have started to cool down, oil would have cooled down so the viscosity of it would not be correct,
or hs he right saying that it takes an hour to cool down properly so by turning it on and booting it more or less straight away is ok?

Basicly for all turbocharged engines letting the temp of the oil get to around 80-90 degrees before caning it,is how you maintain both your engine and your turbofor longer. and after a good run be off boost about a few mins before yah turn off the engine.
Andy forrest's site will give yah more info on this and more.

Hope this helps.

although engine oil temp is very important whether it be the turbo scoob engine or n/a r32 engine, the thing your mate didnt do also was give it a few seconds for the warm oil lubricate the engine components... that would be the killer in my eyes.
