not very mechanicly minded so im gonna pay someone to fit it.

How much can i expect to pay for the labour ?

Looking at your scooby page I would go with an STi top mount, FMIC seems pointless and expensive

Bonus you have the ecutek map already but it will still cost £200 (possibly less) to get the car mapped to the FMIC should factor that in.

I am happily running 335/375 on a top mount in the Spec D, although I have no choice but to go FMIC on the classic as there is no room to put an STI top mount in a V2 STi. If there was room I would go top mount

a) depends on the quality of the kit, figure on best part of a days labour for a good quality one, so whetver the garage charges for having the car for the best part of a day! Certainly around 250-300 would be a reasonable figure.

b) see above

c) Nowt without a remap, which you will need after fitting, best part of 10% gain in bhp and possibly more torque likely, but FMICs are predominantly done for engine efficiency and safety reasons, not power per se.

d) Depends on the kit!

It may be better for you to get an TMIC from a blobeye Sti and fit that, easier and cheaper. Good for over 400bhp too.

I fitted mine in a couple of hours, but took all weekend to cut lumps out of my bumper to get it to fit ! !

HTH

DunxC

P.S.Lewis would now say that you don't need a re-map for a change of intercooler.... but I would get one anyway ! If only to maximise the gain in bhp.
