HELP 5 Y/Old NAOMI FIGHT FOR HER FUTURE
Hello
My name is sean and I am writing to you, people I know and people I dont know. To bring to your attention the plight of my cousin and daughters best friend Naomi.
This brave little girl is 5 years old and has battled brain cancer for the last year, although she has probably had the tumour since birth. Her tumour is very aggressive and she has needed 2 operations on her brain to try to cut it out. Both were unsuccessful, she is also undertaking over 56 weeks of chemotherapy being 46 weeks into it. So far to no avail as the tumour has grown back and is still threatening her life. Naomi is going to have a third Op in six day's and needless to say things are very uncertain about the outcome of the op. Surgeons are going deeper into her brain than ever before and if she survives the op then she will be almost certainly blind.
Now on to the point of this message. Being a father myself I cant even comprehend what Naomi's parent are going through and It is hard to know what to say to them. The best thought myself and my wife had was that we could spread the word about Naomis conditon and many others! and hope there is help out there. A point that most people dont realise is that this is the second biggest killer of children after accidents! There is a poster attached to this email and without being cheeky i ask for you to read it and help anyway you can. ie by passing the link on to friends and family or donating as little or as much as you can. If not, just by passing this email on you will be alerting people to the rare condition she is suffering and raising general awareness. Which is a good thing as at present there is no funding for research into this condition and Naomi's family are trying to change that....
I appreciate your time, many thanks
Sean

Hmmm I may be getting a bit cynical in my old age but this looks a bit like Urban Legends Reference Pages: Natalie and is therefore probably a hoax.
There are some sick barstewards out there that's for sure

Poor little girl, I hope someone comes along to help you attach the poster Sean, wish I could but I am as computer illiterate as you!
Fingers, toes and everything crossed for Naomi's op on the 7th of May.

Maybe a bit too cynical in your old age Graz, but spread the word anyway. the more people that are aware of this. The more chance Naomi and children like her have to survive!

Ok spelling sorted. Thanks for pointing it out.
Please take the time to watch ITV News link and read newspaper article posted above, thanks.
I dont want this to turn into a is it true or isn't it, and it isn't looking proffesional, blah blah blah.
To be honest all I want to do is make people aware of the situation! If they can help, then that is brilliant if they don't want to then that is fine, just keep any negativity to yourselves and keep fingers crossed for my cousin Naomi.

Hello
Ignore the negative comments, it is not worth it.
Sean - PM me for my email addy or post a link to the poster itself and i will try to get it up for you ASAP.
Please keep us posted re her progress. I hope all goes well and Naomi gets cured.
Funny, we all whinge on about our lot in life from time to time, fuel price hikes, house crash, teachers strikes and then you see something like this and it puts it all into perspective, well for me it does.
I have two girls one 5 and a bit. It would drive me out of my mind if it was me in that situation.
Best wishes to the family.

See stuff like that that turns out to be fake all too often these days. Shouldn't be so cynical. Best of luck and I hope she pulls through.
Will spread the word.

No need for insults Yes I did read through it and to me it just looked like a new user (low post count) posting up a chain email they'd received. They've been a few like that before doing the rounds that have turned out to be fake so just thought I'd warn everyone so they can make there own decisions. Now I know it's 100% true I've retracted my comment. No offence meant by it.

Trust me if it was your family you would have been hurt and offended but I appreciate you "retracting your comment"......maybe you could donate to Naomi's "Fight for life Fund" even if it's 10p every little helps! Thanks Graz.
Take care and please cross your fingers everyone for Naomi, she has a blood transfusion (as her platelets are low) tomorrow before MRI also tomorrow then operation on May 7th at Leeds General Infirmary. The rest of her care has been at Jimmy's (St James in Leeds) but her op will be at LGI.
Paul, my deepest thanks to you for putting up the poster for us, I appreciate it so very much, Thank-you, Laura x We will keep you updated and anyone else who is interested.
Sean aka husband (cosworth27) Thankyou for doing this. x

You superstar thank-you so much
Thanks it means so much to the whole family, obviously we are limited with how we can help Naomi and feel that this sort of thread, emails and posters is the only way we can do anything for her.
BTW Gene received your PM and took appropriate action Thank-you!

Update
Naomi's operation has been put back a week because there is not an anesthetist available for the original op date scheduled on the 7th
Her mum(my aunty who is ironicaly an oncology nurse) is tearing her hair out with frustration, could this not have been predicted before?
She had pre-op MRI scan yesterday and another blood transfusion which has perked Naomi up a little so she is feeling less tired now.
Just an update for those who have kindly donated or are interested.
Special thank-you to Paul Habgood too !

Anything else i can do just let me know anytime.
