Cool After 10 years of things just not working out I've finally bought a Scoob! '01 WRX

Hello

After a few months of reading and not replying I've registered and thought I'd say hello and introduce myself.

I'm Matty, 35 from near Oxford.

I've been taking demo drives in Scooby's for the last 10 years but things never worked out with either the insurance/finance or timing. but finally everything dropped into place last november when i saw a '01 (bug eye) WRX in dark blue with gold rims and a couple of toys and only 34K on it with history at Cross Roads Subaru in Shipton on Stour. I love the motor, it's the first car in such a long time that actually makes me smile each time i start it. It's got to be the best 8K i've ever spent lol. It's currently fitted with -
STi fogs and rear spoiler
WRSport Exhaust
PiperCross Induction carbon kit
Prodrive 17" gold rims
Prodrive brakes up front
Prodrive suspension
Hopefully soon it will be paying a visit to my mates dad (Bob Rawle) for a little bit of extra grunt, but i'm not to sure if it needs it or not yet but i'll be having some mates rates

Here's a few of the motors i have had in the time i've been looking and not buying -
'98 = 306 Gti-6 - great fun
'00 = DC2 ITR - loved it, but broke my back with the small seats
'02 = S2000 - twitchy
'04 = CTR - awful
'04 = 320D BMW - good honest motor
'05 = Boxster S 986 - great until it went wrong or needed servicing
'04 = A3 3.2 Q (wifes) - dull
'06 = MK5 Golf GTi (wifes) - awful driving position
'07 = IS250 SE-L (wifes) - a great cruising motor
'07 = Punto 1.9 TD - inbetween motor lol

thanks for reading and hello again

Matty

Welcome
Yep once you get one thats it.
I have had big gaps between the ownership of mine. As life sometimes doesn´t pan out like you would like it and scoob ownership is out the window.
On to my third soon!

Welcome, and I think I speak for everyone on here when I say I wish Bob Rawle was the father of one of my friends! Enjoy your car as it is for a while safe in the knowledge that when you think you would like to improve it you have the perfect person to ask for advice.

Thanks guys... I am going to hold out just for now, well until i feel the need for more brumbrum lol. It does feel real balanced as it is at the mo, and should keep me happy for the time being...

I've been out in Bobs motor when he was only running at about 60%, OMG it scared the living daylights out of me!
