![Question](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/icons/icon5.gif)
To cut a long story short, left my car at a dealer for a service, went to pick it up in the evening, went down the road and pulled in to pick up a few bits, had a look around the car and noitced that the the rear bumper has 2 or 3 slight scuff marks.
So i went back to the dealer and they took a look and apologised and said that they would have this repaired, they asked for a date so i said i would ring back after the weekend to set a date.
Well after trying to speak to them over the phone they are now not getting back to me or replying to my messages.
How do i now deal with this?
Is it worth the hassle of getting the bumper resprayed, they might make it even worse, especially as i have the STI black mica.
Your opinions appreciated.

Had a little go managed to get the 2 small ones nearly out, but the bigger one about an inch/two is quite deep. Any ideas on what can be done. Agree it might be better to deal with this myself.

I had that happen to me from Heathrow Volkswagen when i had my R32, not sure if another car had backed into or someone drove into another car but they cracked my front grill, never admitted it as well the b******ds,
cost me £250 to get a new one and sprayed up.
I never go to main dealers anymore,
not many of their staff are mechanics anymore mainly young 'vehicle technicians' if you no what i mean, plus they have too many cars in there often small forecourts, which means bumps and scraps are more likely.
I'd rather stick to a specialist Scooby mechanic now, e.g powerstation/power engineering, etc etc, least you know these staff no what there talking about as they been hired for there skill/knowledge of cars.

Bit sad as i have used them very well for over 5 years and never had a problem, but recent changes/new personnel on the front desk haven't helped. the mechanics remain the same as i have recognised the guy doing the work on my car and he is very good.
Though i think the fact the area where customer cars ar parked is very tight, which might explain what happened.
I just want to know how i can get a sound resolution to this without getting nasty as this doesn't help anyone.

Send them a letter? Something in writing may help force their hand. It's your word vs theirs though so you're in a sticky situation & they probably know it
Shame really. Just don't go back there again is all you can really do.
There was a thread recently about a garage that crashed someones car & wouldn't "help them out" wrt paying for mods etc. I'll not use them again either. What goes around comes around.

Point out the sequence of events
Point out your long standing relationship
Point out how disappointed you are that they choose to treat you like this.
That should do the trick

Have you actually gone in to speak to them, it's much harder for them to ignore you when you are standing there, not saying go mad or anything, just explain you have come to book your car in as promised by them

I had this happen to the wife's old car a couple of years ago. It came back with a big scratch on the front bumper that I knew wasn't there before hand as I'd just washed it. I took it back, but couldn't prove that the damage was caused by them. The car also came back with mud all over the inside and the sill covered in scuffs (it was an MR2 Roadster). I never took it back to that dealer.

go to trading standards, they will advise you.
I've done this on a couple of occassions, once with a car problem - and another with a picture purchase. Both times it was resolved quickly once they knew that I'd been there.
They sometimes give you a letter template to fill in the blanks particular to your issue.

Problem is if they agree to a repair all they'll do is get a smart repair done not have a bodyshop do it properly.
Smart repair can be ok but usually after 6-12 months the paint goes cloudy
I'd call into the garage and speak to the service manager - take a boyshop quote in with you and say you want it sorting properly
