AM I GETTING BORED OF SUBARU's 220 Miles around town?
220 Miles around town !! in 8+ years of Scoobs it's never been known before
my "around town" fiqures normally around 160-190 miles and my "on a run" around 190-230 miles of a tank.
Fuel prices hasn't affected my Driving, well i didn't think so!! and I know my right foot hasn't been amputated!!
Unless guys know of some mechanical fault that's causing me to get so high MPG out my car
If not my only conclusions are that -:
A) I getting bored of my 350bhp Type 20
B) I have a serious Brain disorder and should see a Doctor ASAP
Worrying times please help
Tony

You must be going throught that phase where you know you have most people beat, so just pottle around.
I live mostly in this knowledge, but get some serious decreased figures when i have to prove it to myself because i've forgotten.
On a technical note, i notice better MPG outta the vRS when it's warmer and it's certainly been that.

I think you grow out of this kind of car. The first 10 years or so after you pass your test (assuming aged 17/18ish) your income rises a lot and more desirable cars come within your reach. But I think you reach a point where just going fast starts to seem rather pointless not to mention more difficult in the increasingly heavy traffic we have these days. Hire something comfy like a German diesel for a day or blag a 24hr test drive. You might find that your tastes have changed.

about 280 miles to a tank for me.
full tanks last 3 days to work @ 84 mile round trip a day = 252 miles plus 10 miles a day taking and dropping kids at school/nursery

Why so obsessed with what people earn?

With a barrel of oil now forecast to hit $150 before the end of the year it is going to cost about £80 to fill up a newage Scoob. There is even talk of $200 which would mean over £100 to fill up. You won't be able to give a Scoob away if/when that happens, never mind be able to afford to run it. I wonder if the reason some of my posts grate so much is that most people know I am right, but don't want to admit it?
FWIW I thought my post was a reasonable explanation as to why the guy is getting better mpg. And my suggestion of a different type of car was also valid as he might find he actually enjoys wafting along in a super-comfy, toy-filled limo.

I thought about driving it everwhere in 1st gear to a respectable low mpg level
but seems I made a right muck up I read trip meter "B" on my last fuel refill instead of "A".
"B" reading i use for point to point and for "A" fuel refills

Never really noticed that before....could be because I am one of the few members of this site who have a clue about money. If the poll on earnings showed anything it is that unless they live at home with their parents the average Scooby driver doesn't have a pot to **** in. Now there is nothing wrong with that if that is how people want to live their lives, but it doesn't hurt to point out there is an alternative to the "spend it all now" culture that many members of this site like to promote.

I haven't seen any posts that grate me, just saw a few recently and everyone was about people not being able to afford running subarus on their income. Just picked up on that.

This is not a dig, but it kind of proves my point. You may be one of the exceptions to the rule, but the majority of people who would agree with that statement are either loaded or penniless. Unfortunately I fear the majority on this forum will be nearer the latter than the former. I'll keep plugging away until you all see sense .
