I have seen it at 129.9p per litre here in south wales.
I hear that some are expecting it to reach 150p by mid summer but at the speeds its rising I reckon it might go higher.
How high can it go before the cost sarts to cause significant problems?
It can't keep rising surely.

It's seriously worth thinking about converting to take refined veggie oil. About £500 upwards to convert and then you can just buy cooking oil in say, 25 litre drums for 50/60p (?) a litre.
Even if the Chancellor tries to tax this I can't see this is practical unless he restricts the sale of cooking oil.
You can probably use a percentage of refined oil (NOT used chip fat) in many diesels without conversion depending on what type of fuel pump is fitted.
Pal converted his Mitsubishi TDi and has covered a lot of miles without problems aside from a pile of empty oil drums

Holy crap....I never realised it had got to that price!!
However..........the people at the top know that we may moan and groan but it, but we'll just carry on buying fuel for our cars. We need to get about, go to work, etc, so we have no choice.
I think it a bit "cnutish" that diesel was cheaper than petrol, but as more and more people changed to diesel powered cars, the price of diesel mysteriously went up more than petrol.

£1.29 round here.
just goes to show that its all about money and not the environment.
If it were about the GREEN issue it would be cheaper than unleaded as you get more miles to the amount of pollution.

€1.40.9 here (Dublin - notice the Euro sign not Sterling)
The diesel price is now around 10-12c a litre more than unleaded in most places.
Filled up today (with unleaded), €1.26.9 a litre but that's quite cheap, most places closer to €1.30.
Since I've been in Ireland (5 years) unleaded has gone up by about €0.50 a litre - still cheaper than home though

I'm not going to bore everyone with my usual propaganda, but by driving more economically you can massively increase your mpg so that it cancels out all the recent price rises. Yes, you'll have to amputate that chunk of lead at the end of your right foot, but it's legal and will save you a fortune. Over 10,000 miles the difference between 40mpg and 60mpg is about £400. The price of petrol/diesel has gone up by about £1/gallon over the last year so the cost of the 250 gallons that you would need to travel 10,000 miles at 40mpg has risen by £250. So you can see that in this very realistic example you are more than able to offset the price rise by driving more economically.
There endeth the lesson.

Just for info, I am 99.9% sure this is VERY illegal. The reason veggie oil isn't taxed like petrol is because it is used for cooking and not powering cars. Given the tax implications of lots of people doing this I think you might find that the tax man comes down on you like a tonne of bricks when he finds out. And before you say he'll never find out - yes he will. Unless you own the biggest chip shop in the world the fact that you are buying several hundred gallons of cooking oil every year and do not weigh a quarter of a tonne will attract attention.
It's not at all illegal. In fact you have an annual 2500 litres tax free allowance per annum. That's quite a few mile's worth for something doing 40 - 50 mpg.
BUT the flaw in my cunning plan is that cooking oil has just about doubled in price in the last month or so and I understand that some supermarkets are now getting iffy about folks buying oil in bulk.
