Does anyone know how to convert kph clocks to mph? Or anywhere that does it? Mazda rx7

Mods: move this if you need to, I put it in the wrong section!

Dont bother never had mine converted in my Integrale.

Simple maths to get MPH, multiply km by 5 then divde by 8.

In reality you only need the key MPH's

If its a cable driven speedo, you buy a mechanical converter and the speedo cable goes into it and then it plugs into the back of your speedo clocks where the speedo cable plugs in. That way if you still have a limiter on there, the car is now limited to 180mph not kph and it saves you ripping the dial faces off the clocks and changing them. ie clock just reads 0-180 mph. Pretty cheap to buy as well, i paid £60 a few years back, but think their even cheaper now.

It's on behalf of a mate so not entirely sure. It has a digital odo at the bottom of it but has needle for speedo. On ebay they sell some kind of electrical loom/connector for about £20. That sounds similar to what youre talking about. That then removes the limiter as it would be 180mph as opposed to the 180kph thats currently on there. I think he wants something like this and then new faces for dials?

You don't need to change the faces as what was 20 kph is 20 mph, 50 kph is 50 mph for example. At most you just put a sticker saying mph over the kph sticker, i didn't even bother to do this, its not worth the hasssle of opening up the clocks IMO. As you said you just need to find out if the car uses a mechanical or electronic speedo. But overall both conversions do the same thing.
