Default 2.0 vs 2.5 performance

I just wanted to know if there were any big difference in performance between the 2.0 newage wrx (bug and blob) vs the 2.5 hawkeye?

I have a hawkeye and have a friend with a blobeye wrx. We were just discussing the increase in engine size and whether this actually makes any difference? Presumably the hawkeye would be faster?

Big difference but it just depends on how you drive the car. 2.5 has a lot more low down torque and will pull more in the lower rev range and then die off whilst the 2.0 needs a bit more revs to get it going.

I've got a 2.5 STi and I love the engine, so much more pull than my old 2.0 STi.

Horses for courses as they say
