Question slight knocking ??

hi guys i have a slight knocking in the engine bay it seem to be comming from somewhere down behind the top mount intercooler. its had this noise since i bought the car 2 months ago, it doesnt restrict the performance or the bay to day running of the car, its more promanant on cold start but quietens down at running temp! the car is a 97 wrx import & is standard exept 3" ss exhaust, k&n panal filter and dump valve any suggestions

As its an import it really needs to be fitted with an after market ecu and re- mapped for uk fuel ie v-power. I suggest you post again asking who the best subaru specialist is in your area and get it to them asap for a diaognosis before it goes bang, and costs you a small fortune as in £3/4k in the mean time take it easy and don't go above 3000rpm so as to keep it off boost. One way of checking if the bottom end is going is to blip the throttle to 2000 rpm and let it drop off sharply, if you hear the rattle / knock then that will be your big end and your wallet will be in for a spanking!!! either way get it looked at.. good luck!!
