Default Car really smells, will this help at all?

You are now looking at the new owner of a 2002 UK sti owner

Bought it off my friend's brother, who although looked after the car very well, he was a smoker and also a pet owner.
As a result of this, the car has a very pongy odour (mixture of smoke and pet smell!).

I have tried fabreeze, but doesn't seem to do much.

Now looking at getting this
FOGGING FOGGER DEODORISING VALETING BUSINESS MACHINE on eBay, also Cleaning, Waxing Valeting, Car Care, Car Accessories, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 05-Jun-08 16:47:34 BST)

Anyone tried one of these before? and also, will it stain/ruin the blue alcantara of my STi seats?

Thanks.

Get a washing up bowl full of lawn clippings, and put it on the back seat.
Replace with fresh clippings every couple of days.
Car should smell like a spring meadow in a couple of weeks.
( Make sure you don't include any sliced up dog sh1te in the bowl!
Peace!

In the meantime, am seriously considering buying the above.

Have you tried giving it a wash inside?

I'd take the seats out, very easy, and give them a good scrub. also wash as much of the plastics as possible. That machine is just gonna mask the smell for a while.

Why don't you just get a full valet and ask them to wet vac the upholstery e.t.c?
