i'm having gearbox issues and so am considdering a transplant of a 6 speed into my classic.

What gearbox will suit?
Is it a fairly straight forward swap?

Where can i get one ASAP ????

I thought about this some time ago and spoke with API, they said that I would also need a rear diff to suit.

 

You need the 6 speed box, full gear linkage and propshaft and it will fit straight on, u can even use your existing 5 speed clutch and flywheel.

As for the rear diff this only needs changing if ur fitting a Jap box on a UK car or vice verser.
If u buy a 6 speed out of a UK STI u won't need to change the rear diff

Any of the well know Tuners (API, Scoobyclinic etc) and Breakers (Grade A, Glenburgie etc) normally stock them.
Or the for sale section on here or if ur lucky u might get one cheap off ebay
