TYPE R OR P1
Is the P1 really worth more than the type R it is based on? OK so there is exclusivity with the P1. But the Type R has so much more kit than the P1, and that for me makes the argument. Is the P1 sold mainly on looks or because it is a Prodrive special. Pro's and Con's of both would be interesting.

PLEASE NOT AGAIN!!!!!! I dont mean to be rude but as you can see by my post count i'm a relative newcomer and this thread has been done to death in the short time i've been on here!
so to save you and every one else here's the summary:
P1 very good every day road car, 2dr UK model v6 sti..
Type r very focused hard core point to point drivers car!
Both have good and bad points depending on your point of view and the purpose for which your buying either.
Track days / hard driver / weekend car? Type r!
Daily driver/ posing with mrs or looking for new mrs and planning on keeping her after the first ride in the car P1
Oh type r £3/5k less + dccd. P1 Abs

This debate has been done many times, I personally went for a type R as it was as much as could stretch money wise, had mine for 1 year and has been amazing.
Apparently there has been several engine failures on P1 but i guess if there were as many type R's in the uk they would have the same amount so dont be put off.
Either way you'll be a happy man

Buy a BMW.
4WD Turbo rally cars tend to only really impress other blokes
I'm torn between P1, Type R or an STI RA WRC. The thing that puts me off the P1 is the lack of goodies (I want a roof vent) The thing that puts me off a type R is lack of history although theres a very nice grey one with good history for sale - but its grey and I really do want another sonic blue car.
The STI RA WRC has all the things I want - colour, vent, blue seats, DCCD but only those that really know their scoobs will know its something special and not just another 4 door.
Having said all that, I'm currently thinking to wait, save some more pennies and get the nicest P1 I can afford.
