STi v Evo
Need to clarify some things which keep bugging me when i get to talk about cars at work!
As a previous Evo 5,6 Owner JDMs i noticed they were quicker from 2nd to 4th gear than subaru sti uk!
My question is why is the evo quicker when they both are around 276bhp standard?
And my Sti type uk 02 plate just had full 3" SS fitted would be quicker or not than the evos?
I am thinking of have a remap done on it stage 1 would take it to 340bhp around a months time.

not quite the same as mine is a classic shape import sti and not a new age but ive never had any problems with accelerating against an evo 5 or 6 and mine is suposedly 276 bhp as well.i think the close ratio gearbox does help as from 35-70 in 5th i can pull 3 or 4 lengths on my mates evo 5.Only probem i had was against an evo 9 GT,i got my *** handed to me

From: Slowly rebuilding the kit of bits into a car...
Just after buying my bug-eye STI I had a play with a type-r....
From 30-70 he pulled a couple of car lengths, which I re-claimed on the brakes.
Every car has it's own strengths and weakness IMHO
