two points from a nur spec-r owner...
1. dont buy a flamer kit for everyday use. youll look a chav, seriously, do you want that stigma as a responsible young impreza owner? shows etc, all a bit of fun, but on the roads.... erm nah.
2. depends on the v.t.a. dump valve too. i say this because with a baileys one i found it difficult to get pops and bangs due to the system having very little back pressure in comparison to my old 2.5" system. however something with a notoriously strong spring like a forge v.t.a. which i know possess gives you a splendid array of pops and bangs if you fether the throttle.
in a wrx with the shorter gears there may be a better way to do it, but in my longer geared uk scoobaru, between 2nd-3rd around 2800-3000rpm is the best time to get them going
**disclaimer**
(yes i know having a v.t.a. "dumbvalve" as some call it is chavvy, but certainly less chavvy that a ******* spark plug drilled into ones exhaust)
