Hi new member, just joined. Got lots of questions to ask but want to start with a nice simple one. I have a 2006 2.5 STI Impreza and finding it really hard to get hold of 98 rom+ fuel in general. Car is not modified in any way yet.
Do any of you run on 97 (ie BP ultimate or other super unleadeds). Can you run on these with an Octane boost liquid?

Be aware of the following...
'95 RON' premium (normal!) unleaded can actually legitemately be down to 94RON and comply with the EN standard.
There is no formal standard for super unleaded.
As there is no standard for super, most are aimed at being 98RON (as old 4 star) but to allow for production variations etc they quote 97RON to be safe.

Why's that?
I have a STI PPP and have run it on Ultimate no problems. OK, I prefer to use V-Power but when I have filled up with Ultimate the car acted fine.
What I have noticed though is:-
Running Ulitmate gave better low to mid range power but lacked top end punch.
Running on V-power gives better mid to top end power.

Thanks for the advice, Think I will stay clear of BP. and try and use V Power as much as posible.
I wont feel as guilty now if I have to use other 97 supers though.
