Question

Am I better off buying a spoiler that has been painted but will require respraying in the right colour or buying one unfinished/in primer?

unfinished/in primer or painted - all need to spray eventually - no much different.

The much different is the quietly of the spoiler. Bad quietly spoiler will take longer to sand and spray. - Cost more money.

Bought my spoiler s/hand and paid £50 for it. Cost £75 to get it painted. Its cheaper to get a s/h spoiler painted cos the bodyshop don't need to prime it if its in good condition, just rub it down to smoothe it off and give it a couple of coats of paint.

LOL @ Wurzel!
I think you need to swap the word 'quietly' for 'quality' .

ian/555 - I don't claim to be purfect all I did was ask a simple question! and is it my fault that I can spell and construct a sentence in English?

Wurzel,
You obviously are imperfect like the rest of us, as you spelt it wrong as well
