I also do 3k a year.
Tell me why this is pointless??
It means I don't really care about petrol prices that much, and I am quite happy to pay a couple of hundred more a year in insurance than a 'normal' car.
Also as mine is a MY00, tax is also ok.

I get about 310 - 320 out of a full tank of v-Power in my import WRX. Strangly economical in comparison to the first WRX I owned ???
Do about 1400 miles in a month, but just cut it in half as I car share now!! What a difference that makes!

Bout 8,000 miles a year but soon to drop lol using the Civic to go to work and back instead due to finishing at silly o'clock in the morning and having the Blitz Nur Spec.
Was thinking about making it a weekend car but looks like I'm getting rid of it soon....

Some wimp will probably report me for trolling or something equally pathetic, but you all know I'm right. What a stupid choice of car.

As far as getting shot after 6 months .... don't believe it !!!! You'll end up modding it (most do) and then it'll lose it's value ... and then you just think fk it i'll keep it I know it's good now!

not StiX could'nt justify it. In my case i would'nt drive any car 3000 mile a year unless it had silly bhp hence reliabilty problems or was stupidly expensive to run. Mine & a lot of other scoobys on here don't have that problem which is why we get a good run out of them. . Also i don't really care about petrol prices that much either, or i would'nt have the two cars i own. View my scooby. .

I'll do about 18k a year with 10k business miles. If you have a nice car and more importantly a drivers car, it needs to be used.
Where's the fun in not using it?

2000 miles/25mpg x £6/gallon = £480/month on fuel. They must surely be motorway miles so unless you have a company fuel card that must be (and I say this politely) the most stupid choice of car anyone has seen for some time. None of the usual burble/4wd grip/performance arguments apply because you're just sitting on the motorway. Over 12 months you're going to spend £5760 on petrol. You're also going to kill the residuals on your car and rack up some serious maintenance bills. If you take into account ALL the costs of doing this many miles in an STI you'd probably find that for the same money you could get something really special.

depends if you need to use your car for work...depends on the state of tune of your car...loads of variables. I've had my MY00 since it was three with 32k on the clock, its now got 72k...I've only done about 4k in the last two years though; commute to work and its too much like hard work to use all the time because of its state of tune.

I have had my WRX(2001) 12 weeks now and at first I was a BIG advocate of running a daily driver....had a £300 Punto for last 2 years and was running that in week and Scoob in garage till weekend!
Then....4 weeks ago...the Punto head went....and its not cost effective to fix it....so, I've been running the Scoob 200 miles a week(not including weekends....260miles inc. weekends)
The 200miles Petrol costs me £43(driving like miss daisy)...the punto was costing £24!
The Punto had wind-up windows, no rev counter, dents, different shades of red panels and doors and it was FREEZING in winter and Scorching in Summer!
The scoob is BEAUTIFUL!!!!!...Turns heads, can go faster anytime I want(road depending) and it is the most luxurious car I have ever had!(Granted, I had been a student for 6 years of my 8 years driving)
I did some math....and to buy a new crapper....I would be looking at atleast £800....then the fuel....then the tax on the crapper and MOT, tyres etc!
I have to pay the Scoob tax aswell anyways...so, it works out almost equal to run the Scoob to work! Then you add the Insurance....can't have my 3 years no claims on both cars....so, the Scoob costs £50 month but the Punto was hitting me for £45 a month with 0 no claims!
So.......sorry for the long winded post.......
....I am running the Scoob from now on!
Oh....and I only work 38weeks of the year(Singing Teacher)...so, 8k miles(give or take)....10k with the fun miles added on!

Approx 8000 miles a year. Daily driver but I only do 5 miles a day and the rest is fun.
Personally, I wouldn't use an STI as a high mileage car which I class over 1000 miles a month as.

Why drive a boring car at work when i can have a grin on my face all the time not just at weekends.
