in my old wrx i put 6.5" speakers in the front, and in my old uk classic, i put 5 1/4" speakers in the front. just depends what you want to fit. 5 1/4" can use the original plastic plates already on the car, just a couple of screw holes to be drilled. i did mine in under 90 mins both sides in pitch black

new...

If you make/fit spacers, you can get up to 17cm speakers in

Use a flat balded screwdriver to prize out:

1. the cover over a screw at the front of the doorcard,
2. the window switches,
3. the door handle surround.

Undo the screw, and release the wiring from the window switches.

Undo the screw found UNDER the window switches. DO NOT undo the large screw inside the doorhandle.

Now use a large flat bladed instrument to gently lift and prize up around the lower, and front edge of the doorcard. If you slide a screwdriver along, you can FEEL each clip, once you find it, pull outwards gently.

Once you have all clips and screws undone, lift the doorcard vertically, and pull it towards you.

It really takes longer to describe than to do

yeah its a piece of **** to do mate. just locating the screws, and being able to glide the card back in afterwards. if you fitted my exhaust ok all them months ago, trust me this will be like stealing a colostomy bag from pslewis.
