i was thinking about getting it mapped, but my last 00 uk that i had 2 years ago was and was running 296bhp on the print out from power engineering, and 5th gear dropped out! i was told coz it was running that power the uk box could`nt take it!! so dont fancy a gearbox build on this one so just playing it safe with basic mods! wimpy i know lol!!

It's not about the horses, it's about the torques ![Thumb](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/thumb.gif)
It's generall accepted that 300Ib/ft+ is entering the dodgy zone but at the same time many have gone way beyond and survived. It's all down to what sort of life the box has had and very much down to luck

Gearboxes will last much longer if you are mechanically gentle with them, even upto 400bhp/400lbft. But as a guide once your power and torque start with a 3** then you are risking a failure.
If you like to drag start, then even at standard power, they can and do fail.
