Default HELP!!!! Can't turn Alarm/Immobilizer off?

Went to my car a few mins ago (not been used for a week) and when I pressed button on key fob the alarm goes off (doors do not unlock) and the immobilizer is still enabled, I can unlock the car with the key in the door but still cannot turn off the immobilizer??

My car is a 2004 STI Type UK.

Tried spare key but no difference. On way out to get new battery for key fob, just in case, but wouldn't have thought both keys are dodgy??

Anyone got any ideas please??? Maybe car battery flat, could that be cause??

Is there a way I can disable the immobilizer without the fob??

Really bad timing as suppose to be using it for a wedding tomorrow!!!! sshhhh!t!!!!!!!

If it's got the standard Sigma alarm can't you just overide it with the keypad?

The instructions should be with your log book etc.. but the keypad is in the coin tray below the fog light switches etc...

You will need the pin code which should also be with all your docs...

Yep, just checked in book and open car using key in lock, type in pin code on pad and start car within 30 seconds. If car will still not start suspect dead battery.....

Thanks very much for your help there mate, eventually found the key pad in the little drop down tray type thing!! Not that it made a difference though.

Well the good news is the car is now running, was a flat battery.

Just need to find out why it ran flat though. Car hasn't been used for a week but wouldn't have thought that should really be a prob, nothing was left on in it either.

Does have a tracker fitted and have read stories about they can drain the batteries after a FEW WEEKS of no use but not a week??? Unless the battery is duff.

Is it ok to disconnect the battery and charge it?? (Car has been re-mapped so not sure if removing the battery will affect anything???).

Thanks

My STI does after a week or so, quite common fault.

No probs disconnecting the battery, just make sure the alarm is off first.

Got a spare battery on it now so be interesting to see if this battery still gets drained, if it does it's a matter of how I find out whats draining it!! Getting the original one tested tom.

Anyway, thanks again. Hopefully there will be some juice left in it in the morning

Does yours have a tracker fitted??

Mine does, as well as a few other bits (defi gauges etc) but can’t see that causing a prob.

Won't really cause a prob after this week as I will be using it every day but be interesting to know if the original battery is duff.

Yes tracker fitted.

Run the car with the fan on No.1 - the car has a smart alternator and only charges when a load is applied, lights, fan, etc

Good luck tomoz.

Red.

same thing happened to mine(53 STi). flat battery, cells knackered, fitted a new one and all was fine. AA man said same about the alternator, told me to drive with sidelights on to make it charge, as Red has said above.
