If the race doesn't start till 4:30, that must mean we'll be racing in the dark under the floodlights?
Never raced in the dark before , mind you, I'm used to poor visability in the dark with my Scooby

Just to reiterate Richards warning about it being wet... If it's beeing raining hard then there will be a few patches of standing water. In one spot it gets quite deep and your bum will be going through it as well as it washing up under your helmet. I strongly recommend bringing a spare set of clothes and shoes.

Richard, Whilton Mill supply us with race suits. If it's dry they'll give us torn red ones. If it's wet, we'll get red & black suits with big holes it

Yep, dusk but the track is floodlight (by a few torches as far as I can tell ) I think I'll fit PIAAs to the front of our kart. Then again we'll be at the front anyway

True about colour of race suits - but it would be fun if people came dressed in blue otherwise Feel free to ignore me though!

Cheers

Yep, air butties

Sorry Sal, no idea about the veggie alternatives. Perhaps a Mars bar Maybe worth giving them a ring?

I've checked with the food place though and they definitely do veggie stuff

Nice one Bitten.

Don't start on the lights or Dave T-S will start slapping HID's on his and we'll all be blinded!

Come to think of it, Simon's got some (PCB) and he's in my team - can you bring em along Si?? I'll bring some octane booster.

Looking forward to this.

Has anyone else raced here?

It's a very good track, better when it's damp (not pi$$ing down though!) cause you can pretty much floor it most of the way round in the dry.

I race here in the Club100 series I take part in

You can really nail these karts (80mph+) around most parts of the track with a small lift off required at top of main straight (good overtaking point for late breakers ) and the double right hander by the pit lane entrance. The pit lane itself is the longest in the world and you can get into trouble if you go too fast down it

See you on the 17th

Wink

Now you know why we got Yex in our team - inside knowledge

Racing in the dark is great fun - my HID's - hmmm, now there's a thought - where's that spare lamp pod.....

Regret I shall be in my Red Baron outfit - can't justify buying a blue suit for the day - might wear my pink STi t shirt though

It is a long pit lane.
The first time I raced there I thought I'd nail it right up the the speed limit line (they've since moved it to right at the pit entrance) and then slab on the brakes.
The pit lane isn't much wider than the kart but I span it 180 deg. and blocked the pit lane for 3 minutes man handling the kart round to face the right direction. By the time I'd got going again there was quite a queue of karts in the pit lane pps:

I shall be joining my esteemed team mate Dave T-S in the fashion show by wearing a black crash helmet, a black racing suit and black gloves I am even considering buying a new pair of racing boots...in black

Yex - black makes you look thinner according to every woman I've ever spoken to

ps: Richard, you've got to keep up with me to see the lines properly roll on the ham eaters

Rolling past the Ham Eaters is exactly what I intend to do

And Yex, you'll just end up looking like the girl from the Zovirax advert that always wears the black helmet! (And I mean in terms of disguising yourself, not slimming that much )

Neaderthal...

Mike and myself (your team mates !) have both done Wilton in both Club100 karts and the 125cc whisper karts that Protrain use for training.

Hi Jeff.

I'm glad I'm in Team Weave then

All my karting "experience" has been at corporate days or charity things. So the fastest karts I've been in are the thunder karts at WM and Daytona in Milton Keynes.

Did anyone go to the SIDC agm meet at WM?

Well, the Puffster's made a late entry! Just when we thought the car park was safe from green wagons with P1 spoilers

In at number 5, in place of someone who... erm.. didn't pay the bills, let's say... Still, their loss is Puff's gain

Good job Puff hasn't got to think of a name, given his previous references to me (Buzzin' Gnat, Squashed Gnat, Broken Drainpipe, ... )

Bitten,

Unless there are any objections from the other two members of our team, Bob and I have come up with the name "Arkansas Chugga Bug" for our team name (from the Wacky Races - seemed appropriate ), or just plain "Chugga Bug" if the other name is too long.

See y'all there!

Neanderthal

We don't actually care about winning as long as we beat the Arkansas Chugga Bug (Bob raced with Mike and myself for the last 2 years in the Challenge.....a little inter team needle !)

Yex....I'd be careful talking about your Black Helmet....someone might polish it for you !!!!!!!!!!!!

Broken Halfshaft

Got the mail, got the permission & I'll be there

Well, just to be different to the other members of my team, I have never ever been BM, let alone raced. So you'll have me as you find me As usual, I'd like rain for my track session but not fussy if not.

Like Yex, I too have a Black Helmet, but I must remember that if we are racing in the dark, then I must replace my dark visor with a clear one Didn't at Milton Keynes in the rain & that was slightly scary

Cool Added the new name...

By the way I'll be issuing everyone with maps for getting between Jordan and karting, and karting and food, so don't worry about sorting out directions. Just get to Jordan on time

That's not going to happen....trust me....

So is the Scooby Teams versus Jordan teams ...?

Anyone brave enough to take the corner onto the main straight flat to the floor wins a round of applause and probable a trip to the local hospital (the fence is very close on the exit !)

Just a quick reminder ......the race is won when the chequered flag drops .....not at the first corner!
