To be fair, although they are one of the most desirable subaru's out there, they suck fuel like no tomorrow and at £1.20/litre thats a big factor on a car with a purchase price of under £10k + credit problems that are currently around..
Good for buyers though, I suspect we'll be seeing a few more of these bargains over the coming period, don't even want to think about what my old wagon is going to be worth come sale time.

Correct I just payed over £12000 for a 24800 mile P1 on ebay. It was local so went to see it first, had 3 previous owners though.

wow sold mine for 11k last october, 84k on the clock with sensible mods,
the thing is now i have a uk turbo with 130k on but with a engine fitted at 120k, so guess it will be worth 3k if i am lucky may be time to get a 330ci as a run around and fit a 6 speed box and 2.5ltr lump!!!

P1s do tend to blow up though after a while. They rest very hard against the ECU's knock control indeed as the ignition map is STI 5/6 standard.
I wouldn't buy one without budgeting for an engine. I like the suspension though.

So why don't peeps take advantage of market conditions? Buy one at knock down price, spend say £1500 on LPG conversion, and end up with a nice fast motor that effectively does 35/40 mpg with little or no loss of performance? dl

John as someone who knows alot about mapping would you recomend a remap of a standard P1 to make it a bit safer? would it gain any power or would it loose some? I say standard but I may fit a P1 upgraded backbox and a fuel pump but thats all so pretty much standard.
