Question Newbie advice - price of an 03 WRX (dealer)

All

Newbie advice needed - a mate told me this was the right forum to come and ask in as it's a friendly place....

I've seen an 2003 plate 2.0 WRX - looks very clean, one owner, full dealer history, all the stamps, unmodified (which is what I want).... 57 k miles, will have the full 60k service done as well plus a full 1 year Subaru UK warranty. Have done some searches and the dealer gets good write-ups.

I'm after some guidance on a reasonable target price if I like it as much after the test drive, is up at £8995. I don't mind paying some premium over private sale or non-main dealer, but given the current 2nd hand market I'm unsure of a good target price!

Dealer blurb: (Finished in premium silver with grey/black cloth interior. Specification includes 17in alloy wheels, air-conditioning, anti-lock brakes, cat 1 alarm, driver seat height adjustment, driver, passenger and front side air bags, front fog lights, front head restraints, front/rear electric windows, headlamp adjustment, immobiliser, power-assisted steering, radio/cassette/cd, rake adjustable steering column/wheel, remote central door locking and rev counter.)

Any thoughts on price much appreciated....

Cheers

Not sure of the guide price for these but for reference i have just brought an 03 WRX STI type uk for £8995 with 28k on the clock from a franchised dealer. so there might be room for negotiation on your part, best bet is to check with parkers used price guide and then look at a few on the autotrader website.

Good luck

ive just had a looksy on parkers, and this came up...

2003/03 Subaru Impreza Saloon 2.0 WRX AWD Turbo 4d Valuation - Parker's

so your quoted price seems way way too expensive. unless an awful lot of sweeteners besides a service were thrown in id do one and buy either privatley or shop around.

had a look on pistonheads around the 8-9k mark and these popped up...

Subaru Imprezas for Sale
(2003-2008 models between £8-9k)

in particular these examples...
revitupuk.com : 53 Reg SUBARU IMPREZA WRX ONLY 12K MILES, MINT!
Subaru : IMPREZA WRX 03 PPP Prodrive Pack
Subaru : Subaru Impreza WRX SL PPP Built in Sat-nav/DVD
Motoworld ltd : 2005 05 SUBARU IMPREZA 2.0 WRX AWD Turbo
Subaru : SUBARU IMPERZA STI TYPE UK 53 PLATE BARGAIN!!
Subaru : 2003 (03) Subaru Impreza STI Type UK
Subaru : Impreza wrx prodrive performance package
Subaru : Subaru Impreza WRX 06
Subaru : WRX STI 8 JAP 2003

and loads more to mooch over. seriously look around, this seems oober over priced

Welcome to Scoobynet

Would agree it looks a bit expensive, although Subaru warranty is a plus point.

You should at least be able to get a car with PPP, unless you don't want Subaru approved modifications as well.

Many thanks all; it was a hoot to drive; going to try a 5 door version at the weekend; tempting to make it the main car...

My god they corner well - remind me never to try and keep up with one in anything else other than a Subaru... :-)
