Default Adjusting Adjustable Suspension......

I know that this might sound silly, but which way is stiff and which way is soft on a set of HKS Hyper D Coilovers ??

I have a set on my classic and have turned the small wheel (at the bottom of the shock) around from one position to the other and there doesnt appear to be any difference in the ride dampening.

Both settings Full one way, or Full the other way are both very bouncy and i think the car's handling is suffering due to the extreme stiffness of the coilovers.

I feel like a touring car driver bouncing around corners

any help appreciated.
Chris.

If the spring rates are too high mate, there isn't much you can do with the damper settings; it's not gonna like uneven tarmac!!

i'm not too sure to be honest how they are, thats why i'm going to try and adjust them to see if i can improve them in any way.

I got them 2nd hand so they were already set up for the previous users classic.

there are the adjustable wheels at the bottom of the coilover which has iirc 12 clicks but then i have also seen when trawling google that people have adjusted them at the top of the coilover too (not the camber adjust either)

So i'm just after some advice on adjusting them initially before i pay someon for the complete suspension to be configured.

I dont want to waste the money having the car set up, only to chaneg the shocks next week as they are too aggresive.

Cheers
Chris.

If the springs are way too harsh, then there is very little that can be done as far as I know, except to replace the lot. If you just specify softer springs, the range of damper adjustment will probably then be mis-matched to the spring such that the car is over-damped even on the softest setting.

I seem to hearing about someone with a skyline with em on and he claimed they were 8/6kgf/mm, which is WAY too hard for a classic impreza used on the road.

Suggest you talk to some suspension experts like Powerstation.
