Very similar, VF35 slightly better response, VF34 slightly better top end power. Difference between th twoo turbos probably less than differences in supporting mods between different cars. VF35 usually significantly cheaper.
See my profile for proven VF35 spec.

as NS04 said the vf35 is the slightly better spoolling turbo, and the turbo with the correct supporting mods can achieve 370bhp / 360lbs of torque
you might want to consider the Andy Forrest TD04H, my mate has one fitted to his 99 - 2000 classic with very few mods (full decat and APS induction kit) and there is very little between his car and my 370bhp STi9
one thing to note about the VF35 (unsure about the VF34) is that they can be bad for boost creep as the wastegate is a tad on the small side. I had mine ported out and that has solved the problem for me.
I found that there was nothing between my car and another mates sti version 7 running 400bhp with a 20G turbo
In the near future I will be trying to get 400bhp out of my VF35 (only because I have been bet that it can't be done) before changing to a MD321T

Well after talking to Mr Forrest he thinks it should be possible, all I recon is needed is larger injectors, FPR, front mount and another map with the methanol and poss toluene mix depending on what I feel like running.
On my last map on the road dyno I showed 380bhp / 365lbs ft of torque (when on a rolling road, rolling roads always show approx 10bhp down on raod figures I got 370bhp / 360lbs ft of torque.) my standard injectors were running at 95% duty cycle and my turbo still had a little bit left to go (was running 10% methanol and standard fuel pressure)
It was good fun proving the folk wrong when they said the VF35 couldnt do 350bhp after I got the 370bhp rolling road figure (on the same rollers Andy Forrest uses)
400BHP, Watch this sapce
the VF35 is a supprising little turbo IMHO

just wanting to get as much out fo the car as currently on 320bhp on a vf28 with supporting mods which are prob not been used to the full advantage
i dont mind if the clutch needs to be done just woul drather not kill the box on top
cheers

Probably not......the clutch will start to slip very soon.
My gearbox gave up at 300lb/ft but that was the weaker (phase 1) casing.
I would budget in for a new box just in case.
6 speed £2k-£3k
ppg £3k
