MORE POWER OR MORE STRENGTH?
i am no expert but i cant help thinking we all strive to make our cars more powerfull but what about reliability ,having killed and rebuilt my engine using standard parts ,i will be investing my cash on stronger internals and parts to keep them strong before i go for more power.I cant see the point in putting a smile on your face when you get it going faster when its going to die prematurley and f***K up your day This is just my personal view and not a slur on anyone who thinks other wise good, luck with yours and i would like to here others opinion on this.

i 100% agree with that. but even before you think about getting more strength and reliabilty/ more power, you should be looking at improving handling to be able to take that power, and brakes to be able to tame that power

YOUR WAY AHEAD OF US.WE ALWAYS LEAVE THE STOPPING TILL LAST AND IF YOU OWN A 98 TURBO WITH STANDARD BRAKES AND SUSPENSION AND 140,000 ON THE CLOCK YOU SOON REALISE HOW TRUE THIS IS

Suspension first always. If you do the brakes first then your car will not be able the extra braking forces. You will find that you won't have to break as hard as you can go around the corners faster.
Then the brakes if you feel you need them. You will only know this by getting your suspension properly sorted out first.
Then finally engine.
I would like to see a comparison on the track between a 220bhp scooby with a well sorted suspension and brakes against a 300bhp scooby with standard brake/suspension setup.
