Default please a quick one for some one in the know

People

a mates MAF has failed and he is being quoted silly money from the dealer to get a new one as it is an early import wrx

no need to give the story but i have a used MAF from my 99 uk turbo

will my maf work in his car or atleast get it running

please any advice as soon as possible

Steve the maf will not work on his car as it has a different plug. You could try David @ API for a 2nd hand maf sensor.

Earlier Scoobs used a hot wire type MAF that was built into the air intake. You therefore need to replace the whole thing and that is why they are more expensive. The newer (and strangely more fragile!) MAFs are a replaceable cartridge that slots into the inlet pipe so cheaper to replace.

And no a MY99 MAF won't work.
