Time Attack 5th Round Brandshatch

Well done Zen and well done Kev Horsley - both cars looked like they were the class of each group - I was watching from the Paddock Hill stand and both were on rails around this corner. Pro class about 150mph over the start line...
The Zen car was particularly composed, up until Phil went cross country, but tht first lap was a belter..Olly was driving well too, but appeared to be badly baulked on his two very serious looking runs. Not sure he could have done anything on the day anyway, with Zen so far ahead.
Bravery award goes to Tappy/Autosportif, who despite spearing off into the gravel early on and ripping his front spoiler plus all aerodynamics off, still went for it spoilerless later but you could see the lack of front end grip, which they tried to balance by taking the rear spoiler off, which inevitably led to them repeating their trip into the paddock hill gravel at v high speed. Not sure the intercooler etc will have survived that. Only took the circuit announcer about 12 minutes to spot the car stuck in the gravel : rolleyes:

You might have seen me in the paddock hill grandstand for the pro qualifying when Tappy went off, went to see a mate while i had a break, looked like a bad case of understeer shall we say It looks alot worse from the grandstand than when you're in the car thankfully!

I would have been easy to spot - sitting in the middle with a lobster coloured head from all the sun
I know what you mean from the stand - the other thing that gets me every time is how much of a slope from side to side the pit straight is on; I never notice it to any great extent when I'm driving on the track (as I guess I'm more bothered about getting round Paddock on the black stuff...) but whenever I stand on the track by say the pit exit it's a good 10 feet difference in height from one side t'other. Like a bloomin oval.

Fantastic result for Zen, and Kev/Clinic, with Olli/RCMS doing a great job of consolidating their position.
Andy.F, and I had a great day, although disappointing that we broke a drive shaft in the final.
Thanks to Pat, Tim, Moray, Justin, Dave Wallis, Chy, Andy, and Phil, Kev, and the guys from Scoobyclinic, and anyone I've missed, for all their help, and making sure we kept running.
Special thanks to Andy F for driving so well with little practice, or set up time, but still managing to qualify in 3rd place, and having the fastest speed trap in Club class, and 7th fastest over all on the day @ 143.7mph !!!
Results for anyone who hasn't seen them,
Time Attack Round 5 Brands Hatch
Mark.
