Default HOW CAN YOU TELL RED TOP

thinking at looking tomorrow at a wrx car with red top engine ...how can i tell if its a sti or what its a 96 import so will this be a sti or what.... what would standerd bhp be.is red top engines better.thanks

and look on the sheet

genuine sti will have a sti plaque on the driver side front suspension turrent. It will also have black seats with grey middle (not black and red or black and purple)
sti also has silver intercooler (not black) and red sticthed steering wheel and gear ****.

It's mentioned alot, but also speak with Dave at API. If there have been any changes to the engine your looking at, from what I understand the only way to know if it's a 'true' red top is the pistons!

(I may be wrong on that though)....

V5 possibly wont be accurate with it being an import

Get the chassis number before you even go to view the car. Post it on here and I'm sure someone will confirm what the car is/was originally.
