Hi Guys and Gals,

My names Chris and I am currently looking into getting a Blobeye WRX.
I currently drive a Vauxhall Astra SRi-T 200BHp with the XP Pack. I love it but Wet roads + front wheel drive + 200bhp dont always equal fun

I had a P reg 2.0 GL when I has 19 and have wanted to get back in a Scooby ever since.

so expect plenty of questions to be asked in the upcoming weeks LOL

Will posts pics up of the Astra soon

I nearly got one of those instead of the Scoob

If you can stretch to it, buy an STi, that's my advice.

After a while the WRX does not feel fast enough and in standard form most modern hot hatches will keep up with it.

Unfortunately the Insurance on an STi is gonna cripple me

but it wont be staying standard for long either exterior, interior or mechanically lol

I love my Astra as said but have always wanted another Scoob, but wanna stay fairly newish as it will also be a daily driver.

and my current Alloys off an 07 Vectra SRi with the XP2 pack

As Norman Dog says, STi might be a better option - if you start modifying a WRX to the same power the insurance will go up a lot anyway. Other option if finding a Prodrive PPP which have more power and don't cost much more.

Shop around for insurance - Moley at Keith Michaels, A-Plan, Privilege, maybe Greenlight are all worth a go.

Hi Chrish - I'm a noob too (just bought a vanilla WRX).

Your Astra looks cracking, but as you probably know from previous experience, wet roads in a Scooby 'preshent no shignificant problemsh' (as Sean Connery might say)...

Cheers mate.

they are now but up until 07 plates (i think). they did 2 different engine variants in the Mk5 Astra SRi ;

z20ler - 2 ltr Turbo with 200 BHp
z20lel - 2 ltr Turbo with 170 BHp

the Astra VXR has the z20leh - 2 ltr Turbo with 240 BHp

Useless info but someone might want to know lol
