ultimate scooby

wouldnt it be great if they made a imprezza with a cossie engine?i test drove 4 wrx's before i bought my cossie and i loved the handling ,looks, and better interior but the performance just isnt there.the cossie engine can be taken up to 500bhp no problem and this would make a ultimate imprezza.this isnt a dig or slagging off just a thought, and b4 anyone mentions reliability my cossie has done 90k on original engine, running 360bhp and never let me down.

Some people ought to learn about engines - especially the ones they own and drive, the Cossie IS a 4 cylinder 4 stroke (as is a Scooby) - just an in-line 4, instead of a horizontally opposed flat 4.
The Scooby gets it's unique noise from the unequal length headers. IMHO it is the sexiest sounding 4 cylinder engine on the planet. Just a shame the internals are made out of reconstituted Fiats...

imatrukas ,im running hybrid turbo(30psi),chip,3bar,4x4i/c,803s,3"magnex,cone filter(but changing soon as its not as good as standard airbox)also group a dump vave which is coming off as i was told you need one running this spec but have since found out you dont and turbo chatter sounds so much better than boyracer whoosh.
does anyone know if non turbo subaru has same running gear(axles)as wrx type???

JGM i hate the sound give me the that V4 sound of an RC1 anyday, out of a race can of course..
But if you want the best sounding machine in the world try a Yamaha RD500LC 2stroke V4 with 4 Swarbrick pipes!!!!That is enough to make you *** in your pants...twice..

Totally off topic but "THE" best engine sound I have ever heard is my cousins power boat. He has a pair of 2-stroke V6 engines each pumping out 250bhp. It is the evilest sound I have ever heard, just a shame you couldn't put them in a road car.
500bhp 2-stroke mmmmmmmm

thanks for the sensible replies,as someone said above,is the c of g much different in an imprezza as the ones i looked at had a lot of components above the engine filling the engine bay up.has anyone put a different engine in a imprezza?will the axles on a non turbo imprezza handle the power of a cossie engine??when i test drove the wrx i thought it sounded a bit like a beetle

Might be me being thick, but what is an RC1? I know a bit about bikes, but that is new to me.
Ducati's 998 engine out of two carbon Termignoni's is pure aural sex, as is the induction roar of a Kwak at full tilt.
Scoobies are the best sounding 4 pot ever, and Alfa's V6 the best mass produced road car engine, excluding exotica like Ferraris, Lamborghini's et al.
All in my opinion, of couse
