Question Matt black anyone?

I've bit the bullet and decided to get the car re-sprayed.Its metallic black at the min (not sure of the proper name) but i was considering matt black as i've always liked how it looks in mags.I haven't seen it in the flesh so i was wondering if anyone on here has had it done?Pics please!!Also any info, pros and cons of it would be great.
Cheers,Davy.

That is ultimate stealth. But you would have to be very careful and get all the colour matching bob on, ie blacked light inserts, dark wheels etc.

Why not just lightly sand down the car, saving the cost of the paint. Park in Lidl's car park for an afternoon to get the job started.

On a serious note, I'd go matt black on mine, it's already black and have been advised against just' rubbing it down'!

That looks really nice.
Only downside ... you are going to be even harder to see, so will need to take extra special care with all the numpties on the road.

Similar to that body rubber prototype which BMW revealed in Top Gear magazine a couple months ago. Blinking headlight covers etc.

I'll try dig the article out.

Andy, my initial thoughts, echoed by these dude, sounds so much more simple and economically viable than some German space age mumbo jumbo

I would asume the down side of Mat Black is the car park Dinks and any other minor bits of bodywork if not perfect would stick out like a sore thumb...

Right i had a discussion with my mate there(the guy doing the re spray)and basically it a no!! He reckons matt is great for show cars only, due to the fact the matt finish wont hold up to any rubbing or polishing. He reckons any rubbing or forcefull wiping with fingers will leave a shiny spot that wont blend back in.He gave me lots of other reasons, but in the end my dream of an Apache Gun Ship style scooby has been deflated Ah well twas good while it lasted!Looks like it'll be a standard issue re spray then

Full body Vinyl wrap can do just the same effect and when your bored of being stealth you can go back to your normal colour!

Matt black is a pain in the **** to keep looking ok, now SATIN black as per all the pics on this thread is not so difficult at all.

Mat black is totally flat black with zero sheen, but satin has a slight sheen and is far nicer.
