Mcrae Gathering saturday evening meet in Banbury
For all of you staying in Banbury on Saturday night, do you fancy meeting up here: Ermont Way, Banbury - Google Mapsfor a mini-meet on the Saturday evening?
Say 7pm? There's a Toby Carvery along there where we could all meet up.
Find a Toby
Would be a pity if we're all there and cast to the four winds on the Saturday

I don't know the area at all, but I'm guessing that's a town centre car park? If someone from Banbury could confirm that would be great

There is a newish pub/carvery sort of place (not my usual sort of thing so don't know the name) just as you come off the M40 and head into Banbury. This would be a much easier to find place to park up IMHO.
All depends on numbers?
I can find the name of the place above tomorrow night on my way home if it is of any interest.

I will post the answer tomorrow late evening.
Also depending on numbers there are some great county pubs within a 10 mile radius of Banbury but obviously if 100 Scoobys turned up to one of them it would be chaos.

the pub mentioned is a toby carvery and is right by the roundabout that takes you to prodrive.
will be packed full of cheap asses eating second rate food no doubt so park well away from the doors

Excellent Mr Jones That'll do
I'll edit the threads to reflect the new location, and I've found somewhere to eat that night as well
Anyone else coming?

Make a back up plan, last time eight of us went on a saturday night they told us there was a 40 min wait for a TABLE !!!!.
Its a cheap eat and as a result usually pretty rammed. Just a heads up.

I live round the corner, how posh do you want to be? Good nosh at the New Inn in Middleton Cheney about 3 miles away; fantastic food - but you pay for it - at the Royal oak in Eydon - about 8 miles away or the New Inn in Farnborough about 5 miles away.

If you want seriously smart and good food this is one of the best places to eat in the area
http://www.thebutchersarms.com
better than The Inn at Farnborough and the same sort of money (ie expensive).
This is a good everyday country pub, decent food, good beer and reasonable prices
The Carpenters Arms, Lower Boddington, Northants for a Fresh, Fun & Friendly Pub
and finally if you want one of the most unspoilt and traditional pubs you will find anywhere in the country try here. The traditional pub food is fantastic and amazing value
The Plough - which doesn't have a website
Plough Inn Pub, Warwick Road, Upper Boddington, Daventry, Northamptonshire, NN11 6DH on UK Pub Finder .com

I don't wish to be contrary but I would seriously avoid The Plough At Upper Boddington (no car park for a start), The Carpenters Arms down the hill is fine, Butchers Arms dinner whilst good is £120 for 2 people. For me the food is better at the ROyal Oak and half the price.

Hehe, this is turning into the good pub guide
Seriously guys, if the few people that turn up to this meet on Saturday are really desperate to eat, I'm sure they'll manage to find somewhere nearby in town. The main thing is somewhere to meet up for all those staying overnight, and you locals too If the Toby can't accomodate those eating, then we'll have to maybe split up and head elsewhere, no worries.
See you saturday guys
