Just spoken to the previous owner who tells me it has a tracker, no documentation tho!!
He reckons I should phone tracker UK up to explain change of owner

This right?

 

Yup... Did he say which tracker...? 'Tracker'? RAC Tracstar? etc....

I wont need it here as it doesnt affect my insurance but thought you got a certificate to prove one is fitted.

 

You need something to prove its activated if you tell the insurance company it is. When i bought mine the last owner hadnt activated it but had all the paperwork so i just contacted them,confirmed change of ownership and activated it. When the proof came i sent a copy to the insurance company.

If you were going to sell it you might want some proof it is actually fitted in case someone asked.
