Default engine light?

any ideas anyone, iv got a 2001 bugeye wrx (chipped and rempapped apparantly) sometimes, under load about 4000 rpm the engine light comes on, it flashes for a bit then stays on not all the time though, then when engine is turned off for 10 minutes or so, it resets itself and the light goes off, anyone got any ideas??

Sounds like you need to plug it in mate.
Cant think of any garages round your way who have a diagnostic machine so might be worth a trip to Mocom.
Im no engine man myself but could be an electrical fault if its only under load and at 4000rpm.
What happens if you drive like my nan ?

As above - could be anything, a sensor, neutral position switch. You need to get it plugged in. About £40 for diagnostic I think?

My guess would be a spurious camshaft position sensor error.......the notorious Bugeye random CEL generator LOL

Just get the ECU checked out for historic codes
