Lightbulb power increase advice!!

Hi all,

I have a my95 v2 sti. It currently has on it,

Uprated walbro fuel pump,
full decat exaust 2.5 inch,
HKS induction kit,
Front mount intercooler,
chipped n mapped to 1.1 bar boost
nkg 7's spark plugs

I want to take my scoob to 350 - 400bhp using just bolt on parts. I believe that the sti has forged pistons as standard and my engine has done 73,000miles and is well looked after so i wont be doing internals on it. unless it goes bang! ive got a few ideas but i need more advice, info where to get parts, peoples spec lists etc. . .

Cheers Leon

If looking for 400 i would think you are going to need a bigger turbo, new injectors and some form of after market ecu ( apex, simtek ).

I would go 18g turbo with 550cc injectors and as above for the ECU. You will be right on the limit of your gearbox though

18g you have more chance of keeping your gearbox and it has a little less lag

for 400bhp you'' prob need to replace the 2.5 inch bore exhaust for a 3 inch

Basically a TD05 18g, 3 inch decat exhaust, ported headers and uppipe, boost controller, aftermarket ECU + remap, oil cooler.

Thats the basics that should get you to 360-370 bhp, above that and you'll need a TD05/6 20g.

I would start with a properly mapped ECU, or does 'chipped' refer to the ESL piggyback ?

It depends what you are looking to pay ! Are you looking for new stuff or second hand? Keep an eye on the for sale section on here for turbos and and ecu's. If you are looking for new stuff then it depend what area you are from.

AndyForrestPerformance

Andy does part exchange on turbos and also supplies fits and maps the ecu's.
