Dodgy story re: VW Golf TDi and VW dealer
#1
A work collegaue of a mate has just had a major run-in with a VW dealer. He bought a VW Golf TDI about 3 weeks ago. He received a letter back from the DVLA stating that there was a problem with the V5.
Apparently, the V5 stated 1 owner whereas the car has had - wait for it - 4 previous owners. The car itself is on a V plate.
After kicking up a stink, the VW dealer agreed to take the car back and refund the guy's money.
It transpires that there were 2 V5'S issues for this car due to some breakdown in the registration process.
Anyway, the less of the day is that even though you've seen the V5 maybe it is a good idea to check with the DLVA that it is genuine/correct.
Scary!
