Default What should i Do? Another M5 or Keep the Scoob

My brother has offered me his M5 for an amount that i just can not say no to...i used to own an M5 and there great cars.. specially his...seeing that BMW fitted a new Engine and Vanos to the car near 20K miles ago! Fully Loaded Lowered adjustable roll bars, not a scratch \ dent on the car..H&S Exhaust, AP 6 Pot Brakes...etc...

I used to own a M5 before i bought the Scooby....but i just do not know what to do..The M5 has its benefits including style, comfort smoothness and loads and loads of torque...

The down side ofcourse its a RWD...

Should i sell and buy the M5.... (I recall saying this 2 years back when i sold my Black MY03 to buy the 02 plate M5 that i had)

Subaru itself has its benifits and downsides main one being very costly as you can never stop spending..!

If you're a rich oil baron then go for the M5

Depends on your preference. For me i'd love the M5 for a couple of months, then get bored and want my rattly scooby back, but thats just me. I always seem to come back to them. If it was a new M5, well that may be different!

If its a V10 go for it. Different class of car to the older V8 and certainly well above an Impreza

u cant say well above the impreza no way... diffrent class to an impreza they both satisfy you in diffrent ways, you sell that scooby and you wont get much for it now, and then 2months down the line you will be cursing the day you bought the m5 cause you will be missing your scooby like no 2mora. and thats a fact, ive jsust looked at your profile youve got a nice motor if i was you mod it with an uprated turbo bugger injectors and you will never think of an m5 again.

or if you sell your scooby for good money tell your brother to knock of another 2 grand "thats what family is for", add some of your hard earned wages twoards it and you can buy yourself an sti ra ver 3 and thats bullet in standard form that way you have the best of both world. agree????

M5 in 2000 cost £60k
2000 AWD Turbo in 2000 cost considerably less

2008 STI costs £27k
M5 costs £62k

Don't remember seeing a £60 k Scooby

One is an extremely fast luxury brand

The other is a fast Japanese hatchback

As previously stated, a different class of car

If it were the V10 M5 then I'd go with that every single day, however, even though the old M5 was a lovely motor I'd still have your scoob over it.

amm...no V8...

I dont think you have any idea how much fuel the V10 uses..rule of thumb is divide the mileage covered by 2 and that is how much the journey has cost you in fuel...

I was speaking to a chap last week at a seminar who has a new M5. God dam it was lovely. but......

The running costs are fecking laughable, needs servicing roughly every 4000 miles (it tells you when and its seriously fking expensive) does about 14ish mpg if he drives sensibly and mainly drives it out of M sport mode as it drinks even more fuel then! He also was telling me the tyres were somethin like 350-400 each and they last less than 10k miles.

He was actually asking about the scoob as he was thinking of getting a 911 turbo but needs a 4 door for everyday use!

If you think about 500BHP and anything around 20 MPG isnt that bad..

My 260BHP scoob managed mid 20's tops whatever style you adopted..Mid teens when "used"..

M5's are a 5 door supercar in any guise and should be bought with that in mind.

I love the E39 M5, it seems more 'honest' than the new one which has too much electronic trickery for my liking. I would bite his hand off!

But it won't be cheap to run...

Errr, and that's not an M5! LOL

Anyway, Scoob or M5? M5 every day of the week. The fact that it has one of the best engines ever, in arguably the definitive saloon car shell, makes it simply unbeatable.

You'll come back. I did......

Unless you spend all your time driving on de-restricted motorways you'll have far more fun in a scoob.
